So I wanted to learn how to assemble or tune or at least in some fashion make a tattoo machine that at least turned on, the degree of fine tuning will take some time and patience but the initial assembly of parts and construction was the goal and I achieved it. Gathering parts from all over the inter webs i finally settled on baltimore Street irons coils/springs/parts and some precut frames off ebay (risky but seems to have done the trick for this project) This was a very fun project to do…
Also Gun Blue to give the frames a nice dark finish whilst sealing them up to prevent rusting.
End result
Using links like this:
and other resources across the internet, i am happy with the flow of info and the many different approaches to this assembly there are, and the fact they are documented in a way that someone who knows very little about the terminology or science behind it can understand fairly quickly.
So i gave the D90 another shot with video, it kind of forces you to think of you video as a whole rather than just turning it on and leaving it, 5 Minute intervals is proving perfect for video but the intervalometer is best use for time lapse, one i get the hang of it the videos will be better with that device, but for now this is fun. I may get a hero2 for the longer videos at wide angle.
Went to Chicago this past week for a convention dealing with our ILS sponsored by a company called Innovative Interfaces…. in short the conference was very fun and i got to see things from a different perspective not just IT. That part aside it was in short a conference filled with meeting that either informed me or had nothing to help me at all.
Now Chicago….. I love Chicago, i have been exposed to the larger metro areas around me, like dc, baltimore, philly, and new york, and none of these places afforded me the same pleasant experience i had in chicago. Not sure how to explain it other than the city is large people move at a quick clips, but every experience i had, from the hotel to the restaurants, to the nice people on the street, people had manners, and were for lack of a better term enjoyable to talk with. Oh yeah and i had Thai food for the first time, which was fn incredible….. and the sushi at Niu was the bomb, although the rich was less firm than i like.
I could tell from the second i got home that i was back on the east coast, fast moving, entitled pricks ready to bite the hand that feeds them for their own vanity.
On the way back to Salisbury though the manners and kindness returned.
So what can i say about Chicago….. great architecture, the lake was awesome, cleanest looking down town i have seen in my life, marble & granite everywhere. Easier to let the pictures do the talking for me.
So before the photos and videos of some cool time lapse i did with my iPhone i do need to say if you don’t do a single thing in Chicago i would ask that you only go to a single place even just once, go to Phil Stefani’s Steakhouse 437 Rush….. Dude, its like a endorphin orgy for your senses.
SO without further a due here is the collection of things i experienced on the trip
